HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The first generation of Link models ran from 1999 to 2012, but in 2004 there was also a mild facelift, and the numbers on the dial were swapped for stick indices. It was this year that reference WJ1111 was introduced, at a price of £950. This watch could have been made anytime between 2004 and 2012, but it can not be older than 2004.
CONDITION
The link bracelet is quite an interesting design. It has numerous parts, and wouldn’t have been cheap to produce, so no wonder TAG Heuer were so proud of it they named the entire range after it. The dial is subtly intricate too, with starburst design to the centre and then concentric rings around the outside. The case was the biggest size they made in 2004 for the none chronograph models, and has a unidirectional bezel surrounding the sapphire crystal. The Swiss quartz movement is a simple set and forget item, with quick set date for the end of short months. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case, crown, clasp, and box.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, and our Certificate of Authenticity. The presentation box is not perfect – none are of this period – and the watch cushion may be a later replacement.
