The Presence is a classic dress watch from Longines, and this example has a more interesting dial. Model reference L4.720.2.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
It is not easy to date this model, as it has been available in a very similar form for many years – even the new model from Longines looks very similar. Given the movement calibre in this watch, and the size, we think it is from the late 1990’s or early 2000’s.
CONDITION
If you google Longines Presence L4.720.2 you will find watches priced much, much higher than this example. The only reason for this is that we managed to get this at a good price. The dial is really nice too, both in condition and design. The centre is a starburst design, and the outer part that houses the hour markers has rings like an LP. In real life this looks good, as the fine detail bounces the light of the dial. The glass is not scratched or chipped, and the crown is the original signed item. The gold plated case does have a small ding on the bezel near nine. The movement is a Longines signed ETA 955.412, also used by TAG Heuer, Zenith, Breitling and others and it is all working well in this Presence. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, and does show some wear to the gold plating on the high points of the bracelet. You could easily swap the bracelet for a leather strap, and we have shown a photo of the watch on a leather strap to show what it looks like.
