HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We have taken a photo of this watch on the original launch write up in issue 39 of International Wrist Watch magazine which was published in 1997. This example could be a little later, but not earlier than this year.
CONDITION
The Golden Wing was more than twice the price of the Sport Wing model, so what did you get for the extra money? Well all the links are gold capped rather than plated, so you should never need to worry about wear being an issue. The glass fitted in the Golden Wing is sapphire crystal too, for extra durability. So confident that this would be a popular model that Longines even made a solid gold version, costing £5,995! The movement fitted in all models was an ETA based but Longines stamped L.263.2 quartz, with quick set date. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
