HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Gucci watches are difficult to date. However we have found the same model 6000.2.L available for sale with papers dated for 1995, and we have no reason to think this watch was any different.
CONDITION
We have done a light refurbishment on this watch, fitting a new glass crystal and new strap but retaining the original buckle. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred – those hinged lugs are clever, as they allow standard 12mm straps to be used without any modification. The case and case back are gold plated, which is worn on the high points but this shows up far more on the studio lit photos than in real life. The movement is an ETA 3 jewel quartz, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The only real negative is the cabochon cut stone set in the crown is chipped, but seeing that the stone is only 1.6mm wide the chip is not very noticeable.
With the closest new Gucci ladies watch £720, this older watch is excellent value for money.
