The Must de Cartier 21 was an impressively different watch without being quirky. Model reference 1330.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The Must de Cartier range was launched in the 1970’s, as gold prices were driving away Cartier’s traditional buyers (gold prices more than quadrupled within a decade.) So a range of steel and gold plated silver watches were created, and these were named Must de Cartier. For the 21 model line you could get three different case sizes, with 28mm being the ladies version, and throughout the mode run the bracelets evolved. This bullet style bracelet with five centre links was the middle of the three styles, and that was around the early 1990’s.
By using mechanical Swiss ETA movements off the shelf Cartier made the original Must de Cartier models more affordable. Later they did make full blown Cartier watches in the same way, as to a lot of people couldn’t care who makes the movement as long as it is accurate and reliable. This later watch has the Cartier 690 quartz movement, which is shared only by Cartier and Ebel, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. It is always nice to see the finishing on these, as although only the watchmaker would see it is was important to Cartier to impress them at all times. The wider than normal bezel used by the Must de Cartier 21 has a few light scratches – they all do – but the gold plating is good – the gold plated parts are sunken into the design, so don’t normally get rubbed. The cabochon blue stone set into the crown is not chipped or cracked. The dial, blue hands and glass are perfect. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, and there is wear to the gold plated parts if you look closely. Likewise the case back is a little rubbed. You can find this model cheaper if you opt for the leather strap, but the bracelet is half of the experience of this model.

By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
