A very nice Zenith Cosmopolitan dress watch, gold plated with a white dial, complete with original Zenith box.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We know that the ETA based quartz movement in this watch did not start production until 1988. Given the size of this watch, and the fashion for bigger cases started in the early 90’s, we think this was made circa 1989.
CONDITION
The watch hardly looks worn, but it doesn’t have the original Zenith strap and the crown isn’t signed either. Maybe it had some careful wear and then stayed in the box after the crown was replaced? It is speculation, but would explain the excellent condition. The plating doesn’t show any wear, the dial is crisp and clean, and the ETA based movement working well as you would expect (this watch also has quickset date, handy for the end of the month or if you do not wear your watches that frequently.)
These are quite small and very thin watches, making them very light and easy to wear.
This watch will be supplied with a Zenith box, outer cardboard sleeve and our Certificate of Authenticity.
