This is a stainless steel and very distinctive Kotana men’s Swiss watch, and it is unlikely you will ever see another like this.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

The brand Kotana was registered in March 1977, which is a hard time to register a company making mechanical watches right during the Quartz Crisis.  With not much more to base any conclusion on other than Seiko had some very similar bracelets in the late seventies, we are estimating this was made circa 1979.

CONDITION

This is a funky piece that will certainly stand out in a crowd.  The case is quite large, which is made to look larger by the flared bracelet.  Both case and bracelet are stainless steel.  The folded link bracelet is full length and it has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.  It didn’t really need it, but that is an indication this watch has not been worn much.  The grey to brown fade dial is also very good and quite bold, and the orange seconds hand just adds to the 1970’s vibe this has.  The movement is an AS5103 21 jewel automatic with quick set date, housed behind a screw down case back.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
