Made in West Germany, this RE Watch Top Timer Chronograph is not a watch you will find many other examples available. If any!
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Having been made in a country that no longer exists, we know it is definitely pre 1989. But looking at the movement production dates this is more likely to have been made circa 1975.
CONDITION
RE Watch Company were established in Berlin by R. Eichmüller, and watches are still being made using the Eichmüller name. We have not been able to find out much more, as RE Watch Company gets lost in a million different search terms. We o know that this watch uses an EB 8420 movement, that has 17 jewel and this distinct dial lay out – constant seconds are at six, and the chronograph red hands are for seconds on the centre and a 30 minute counter at 10:30. The reverse panda colour scheme always looks good, even if this panda layout isn’t classically positioned. The date can be quickset by winding the watch hands backwards. The condition f everything is superb – even the gold plating on the crown and pump pushers has not worn to any significant amount. The leather strap is a great colour match for the hands, but we could swap it for a different colour if preferred.
