A highly original example, this ladies Longines has the original strap, buckle, crown and box still with it!  Model reference 1027 1.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

Up until 1969 you could date Longines form the movement serial numbers, but this number post dates these so must be later.  With the lack of further evidence, we suggest this watch was made circa 1972.

CONDITION

This is a timeless ladies watch.  The black painted hands against a silver dial are very legible, and the manual winding movement via the signed crown is a delight to wind (and of course would never need batteries, ideal if the watch is not a daily wearer but saved for special occasions.).   Condition is good, with minor signs of being worn that you should expect from a watch from this period.  The enlarged photos can show the condition better than words though.  The leather strap is used but the original Longines stamped one.  We could fit a new strap instead, and that could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred.  The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, buckle and strap.

This watch will be supplied with original Longines box and our Certificate of Authenticity and cleaning cloth.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
