HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Longines stopped using sequential serial numbers in the late 1960’s, so we can not get an exact date for this watch. However, the movement used in this watch was first launched in 1971, so the watch can not be older than 1971.
CONDITION
This square dialed Longines is a good example of how to do simple, well. The case, all stainless steel, is unpolished so will have minor scratches but nothing we would consider damage. The crystal has no chips or cracks. The dial is clean, with black painted hands making legibility great. Insde the case is Longines calibre 428, a manual winding 17 jewel movement that is running well. The silky bracelet is quite a rare thing to find still on the watch. The bracelet is full length and fixes with the Longines signed sliding clasp, so will fit most wrists and can easily be adjusted for maximum comfort throughout the day. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The bracelet isn’t integrated and can be removed, giving you the option of changing the watch look by adding a leather strap. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and clasp.
