Buttes Watch company (BWC) fitted a 25 jewel ETA movement into this watch, with quick set date at six.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Without any other evidence to go on, we have had to use the movement to help date this watch. The ETA movement inside this watch was launched in 1969, so the watch can not pre date that year.
CONDITION
Not to be confused with the British Watch Case company, this BWC is the Swiss Buttes Watch Company that were founded in 1924. They are still going today, 100 years on, and are mainly sold in Germany now for around €599. This watch has a good size case, which has chunky lugs and a surprise – between the lugs shows the case used to be 10 micron gold plated, but this has been polished off in the past. The case does have a few marks, witht he worst being near 10pm. The dial has a light linen effect and the wording automatic 25 is a reference to the ETA 25 jewel movement that powers this watch. It has a BWC rotor fitted, but the rest is pure ETA and is all working well. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
