Rotary watches have always been popular and largely inexpensive, and this is no different.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
They is no way to accurately date Rotary watches, unless you have the sales paperwork. But the movement in this watch was in production in the mid sixties so we are using that as our estimation. The box is also from that period – later watches had black boxes, then burgundy.
CONDITION
Just because this was never designed to be a top end watch it doesn’t stop it being a nice watch. The case is gold plated, with a stainless steel caseback which is stamped on the inside SD for Sylvain Dreyfuss, one of Rotary watches founders. The movement is a 17 jewel, hand wound AS 1950 with machined decoration that is working as you would expect. The dial and hands are clean, and the worst piece of wear and tear on the watch is that crown has lost its gold plating. It is still easy to operate though. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. The box is overall good, but the blue material is a little loose and frayed.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
