A very cool Zodiac Aerospace GMT automatic men’s watch, on the signed original beads of rice bracelet. Rare to find in such nice condition.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The Aerospace GMT was launched in 1960, and it was changed substantially from 1965. The watch we have here will be from that first period, but we have found a date code of 1-63 on the bracelet clasp showing the bracelet was made in either the first month or first quarter of 1963 – presumably the watch was made then too.
CONDITION
Zodiac launched one of the worlds first divers watches with turning bezel in 1953 with the Sea Wolf – the same year that Rolex launched the Submariner and Blancpain the 50 fathoms. In the very early sixties they fitted the calibre 75 movement, with GMT hand, into the same case to create the Aerospace GMT like we have here. As well as the red GMT hand, you can also turn the bezel to line up with the hour hand to calculate the time in other zones. The movement also is complete with semi quick set date too, but naturally that only adjusts with the main time hands. The bezel is in good shape, with little wear and the original cream paint in place in the top half of the bezel. The green pip at 12 has lost some paint though. The black dial with the silver text all appears original. The rare bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, clasp and bracelet.

This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.
