A nice quality, original example of the Daymatic model, and not easy to find like this.  Original dial and dagger hands.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

This watch contains the 17 jewel Favre-Leuba 1152 movement, which was a joint development between the respected firms of Doxa, Eberhard, Favre-Leuba, Girard-Perregaux, and Zodiac.  Production started in 1961, so we estimate this watch to be made circa 1962.

CONDITION

Favre-Leuba were very successful in selling watches in the 60’s and 70’s in India.  Sadly this has had the effect of a lot of watches on the market that have suffered in the climate, with redials and even rusted movements being quite common.  Happily this one has the original dial, and you can see how clean the movement is.  The stainless steel case is sharp, including the beveled lugs, and the crown is still original too (unlike this similar watch at a top London retail shop).  We have fitted a new Condor leather strap.
