This Benrus Wristalarm is a good looking alarm watch, which would have been a rival to the Vulcain Cricket or the JLC Memovox.  Model reference #3021.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

There is no serial number database for Benrus, so we have to explore different evidence.  The movement used in this watch was very successful, running from 1954 to 1970.  Around 1960 the way the alarm was set changed, and our watch has the later way to set the alarm.  A little later the beat rate was increased to 21,600bph, but this watch has the earlier 18,000 version.  Using this information we think this watch was made circa 1961.

CONDITION

This Wristalarm is powered by the AS1475 movement, a hugely popular twin barrel manual wind alarm calibre used by brands including Wakmann, Tissot, Enicar, Helbros, Tudor and more.  The crown at two is to wind the alarm spring, then if you pull the crown outwards you can set the time and activate the alarm.  To stop the alarm you push that crown toward the watch.  The crown at 4 is to wind the watch mainspring and set the time.  All is working well, as demonstrated in the video.  The dial is all original, but does have some marks.  The red leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred.  The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, and both crowns.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
