15 jewel manual movemnt
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We can date this to circa 1935 from the styling and movement. We will not be able to be more accurate than this, as records are not available
CONDITION
Considering this is about eighty years old, it is in very good condition. The stainless steel back is perfect and the movement runs strongly and keeps decent vintage time (please note this well not be as accurate as a modern quartz!). The chrome nickel plating has lost little of its shine, with just small amounts of flaking on the crown side shown in the photos. Ancre were a German firm that made watches for the military, and that quality shows. The dial is very clean, and we will fit a new strap before sending this.
This was made as a gentleman’s watch, but given the smaller size it would equally be suitable for a woman.
