The Seiko Presage Cocktail has to be one of the most recognisable recent watches launched. This is the brown dial version. Model reference 4R35-01T0 or SRPB46J1
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in January 2018, and the warranty card shows it was sold in June 2019
CONDITION
The Presage range used the 4R35 movement, which is also the base unit for the Grand Seiko movements. That is an excellent start, with hand winding, quick set date and hacking seconds as standard. This twenty three jewel automatic movement can be seen through the exhibition glass case back, and the oscillating weight is finished in gold to match the case. This plating is in rose gold, which is unusual and works perfectly with the brown dial. It is the dial that is the highlight of this watch though. The dial looks ridged, but is actually flat with clever printing making the dial appear to have ridges. The effect as the light changes is very good, as shown to best effect in the video. The strap is used but the original item, along with the branded deployant clasp, and both have plenty of life left in them. There is a small scratch on the crystal near the S of Seiko. This watch is still available from Seiko for £530 new, but without the signature cocktail dial.
