HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The nice people at Sinn confirmed this watch was made in 2016.
CONDITION
Helmut Sinn was a pilot, so when he started making watches it was natural that he concentrated on pilots watches. Choosing Frankfurt and not Glashutte to base the business was unusual for a German company, but it paid off for them. As a tool watch this does everything positively and cleanly, with no frills. It feels very well screwed together, and the term sturdy would befit this Sinn. The dial and hands are very clear, with all the chronograph hands being in orange to make sure no confusion could happen. Both case and bracelet have a few marks – these could be polished but they suit a tool watch. Alternatively you can still buy a new one of this model for £2,660 direct from Sinn. The movement is based on the venerable Valjoux 7750, and this does feel very much like IWC pilots watches we have had in the past with the same movement. The day and date suit nicely, being white on black to match the dial, and both can be quick set. The case features Sinn Ar anti fogging technology, and you can read about what this does here.
