Based on a watch that Eterna made for the Czech Air Force in 1939, they only made 1,939 of the new ones with an RRP of £1,495.  Model reference 1939.41.46.1298

These were launched in 2013 in such limited numbers this watch, number 302, would have been made then.  The paperwork is not filled out.

The watch is unworn, so this turns to a review rather than a condition report.  A Blog to Watch did this write up on the model when it was launched, and we have to say they got this spot on.  At first the watch looks quite simple, almost minimalist, but then you notice the details.  The hands are gilt, filled with super Luminova, but most of the time you don’t see the gilt.  Likewise with the minute track.  The modern update adds several improvements – the case is larger, but just by 2mm.  The manual wind movement is swapped for a 25 jewel ETA automatic with calendar, and the calendar wheel is colour matched to the dial – like we say, the details become apparent.  The original watch would have used radium lume too, so that is not missed at all!  The sapphire crystal is also a nice upgrade over the plexiglass used in 1939.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, blank papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
