HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
This range was launched in 2008, but from the guarantee card, which matches the serial number of the watch, we know this watch was sold in August 2011.
CONDITION
The design of this watch pays more than lip service to the connection with Williams. The articulated lugs have the profile of an F1 wing, and while they add nothing to the aerodynamics they so make the watch comfortable to wear. The rubber strap, which is showing no splits or cracks, is embossed with the Oris logo and grooves like the F1 tyres of the period. The dial is also interesting – as well as the extended date window the hour markers at 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 11 are actually cut out of the dial and reveal slightly different parts of the date wheel each day. The automatic calibre 635 movement is a rebadged ETA 2824-2, in the highest specification 25 jewel, hacking option, and is visible behind the exhibition case back. The crystal is sapphire, with anti reflective coating, and unmarked.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers, hang tag and our Certificate of Authenticity.
