HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied paperwork we can accurately date this watch to being sold on the last day of 2008.
CONDITION
Jaeger-LeCoultre do not make low quality watches, and to have a highly complex watch from them is a treat. It is not something we would normally stock, but it came in part exchange and we are selling it very competitively compared to others currently available.
Everything is working as it should, and everything is original. The worldtime is a nice feature, as they have hidden the inner bezel so only the cities visible in the window above six can be seen and the others do not create confusion. The subdial at 2 has two functions. The short hand is a day night indication for the main time zone, and the larger hand sets the date for the main time zone. The date can be adjusted separately, for instance at the end of a shorter month, with a pusher on the side of the case. JLC provide a pusher tool, which is with this watch. The dial at six can be set by the crown at three, and if you turn the crown at ten this also jumps in accordance with the city / timezone selected. Next to this subdial is a 24 hour indicator for this second time zone. At 10 is a power reserve. It all sounds complex, but it is quite easy to use and we have the instruction book to refer to as well. The steel case is unpolished, so shows light scratches but nothing terrible. The strap is a JLC Alligator leather and this is fitted with the signed butterfly clasp.
