In near NOS condition, this ladies Movado Museum watch was sold new as a his and hers pair.  Model reference 87 E4 0823.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the supplied paperwork, which matches the serial number on the case back, we know this watch and it’s partner were both sold on June 1st 2000.

CONDITION

The Museum watch was designed by American industrial designer Nathan George Horwitt in 1947, with his vision of a ‘sun’ at twelve and just two hands.  It became known later as the Museum watch after one of the prototypes (made by Vacheron & Constantin) was added to permanent display in the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA).  Movado started making the registered design around 1960, and this it still in their range in one form or another today.

This ladies version looks completely unworn, and still has the sticker on the case back.  The leather strap is the original, albeit with a small scuff to one side.  The movement is a Swiss made Movado branded ETA quartz, with four jewels.  We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.

This watch will be supplied with the original inner and outer presentation boxes, instructions, dated warranty card and our Certificate of Authenticity.  The inner boxes have some signs of deterioration from age.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
