Rarely seen in Europe, the SUS models were only available for a short time and to the Japanese Domestic Market. Model reference 7N33-6050.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in July 1997.
CONDITION
Information in English is a little scant on these, but from what we understand this model came about after a survey of what younger Japanese buyers wanted from a watch. Simple and Strong were the keywords, so Seiko looked at military watches and came up with the SUS models. You could get SUS models with this day and date layout in either dark blue, which was cheaper, or this full lume dial. It is quite the party trick to have the whole watch dial light up, and the black hour markers add contrast. During normal light the dial has a cream colour. The movement is a Seiko quartz with quick set calendar for both day and date, and the day wheel is in English only, which is how they are shown in the JDM catalogue too. The case has a few marks but hasn’t been polished. The glass also has some scratches. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
