The mid size, bi metal TAG Heuer S/EL isn’t the most popular of the range, but the condition of this one stood out. Model reference S95.213K.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in the third quarter of 1992. This model was one of the original line up of S/EL models, and first appeared in the 1987 catalogue where the S/EL effectively started to replace the 6000 as the range topper.
CONDITION
With the gold plating and comfortable bracelet it is easy to forget that this was a divers watch, rated to 200M water resistance. So the bezel, with lume pip, rotates in just one direction to help check how much time you have left on your dive, and the crown screws down. You also get sapphire crystal glass and quick set date. Unlike many though, this watch seems to have had an easy life. The bezel doesn’t show much wear, and clicks positively. The signed crown is in the same condition, and screws down smoothly. Timekeeping is done via a signed ETA 7 jewel quartz movement, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The grey dial is clean, as is the lume on the hands still. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown and clasp.
