Braun Tyrrell Honda competed reasonably well in the 1991 F1 season, and this watch was made to commemorate this partnership with a typically Bauhaus style watch.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

Braun were the title sponsor for the Tyrrell Honda Formula 1 team in 1991 only, so this watch had to made then.  The Harvey Postlethwaite designed Tyrrell Honda 020 showed great promise for a smaller team, including a second place in the 1991 Canadian Grand Prix for Stefano Modena, beating the likes of  Senna, Prost, Mansell and Piquet.  We have included a photo of the car, taken from Wikipedia.

CONDITION

The watch would be a favourite of F1 designers, who want any component to the job as well as possible for the minimum of size and weight.  This watch is clear and clean to read at a glance, thanks to the Bauhaus style used by Braun to such great effect.  The buckle is original but the strap is new.  The case is very good indeed, and the glass has the smallest of marks.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
