HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the stamped number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being issued in 1990.

CONDITION

The codes at the front of the serial number tell you a lot on watches issued to the British forces.  W10, as these are generically known, were issued to the Army.  0552 were issued to the Navy, and 0555 were issued to the Special Forces.  The W10 watches are the most common, the SBS/SAS ones scarcest and the Navy ones sit in the middle.  The design harks back to the dirty dozen watches first issued in 1944, but you now have modern technology such as quartz accuracy and battery power.  You still get fixed bars and the train track minute ring.  This CWC watch is in good condition, with everything working correctly.  Only some dirt on the lume compound on the hour markers adds any patina.  The quality NATO style strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.  We will include the camo design strap for free as well that is shown in the video.  We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
