A stainless steel and 18k gold Seiko Credor ultra thin with an interesting ‘running stitch’ design on the bezel and bracelet. Model reference 2F70-5590.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in September 1989.
CONDITION
Seiko started the Credor line in 1974, showcasing their gold watches. Originally it was Crêt D’or, or Golden Crest, but the gold boom of the 1970’s all but stopped people buying solid gold watches, so Credor had gold elements instead. The parts you see on this watch that look gold are 18k yellow gold, including the links on the bracelet. This is confirmed on the case back. Ultra thin watches are watches with a maximum case thickness of 5mm, and this Credor smashes that by being just 4mm thick in total. The dial is a textured gold colour, very clean and interesting as the light makes it look like parchment. Inside the case is a 12 jewel Seiko quartz movement, branded for Credor, with metal bridges. It is all working well and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet is quite short but does have an extra link to extend it slightly – but not the grub screws to allow it to be fitted. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and clasp.
This watch will be supplied with our branded and reusable zipped travel case and cleaning cloth, and our Certificate of Authenticity.
