This is the best example of the PVD coated Seiko Chronograph we have ever seen. Model reference 7A38-7180.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in September 1985.
CONDITION
Regulars to this website will know we have a high admiration for the Seiko 7A** series movements. These all metal, fully serviceable quartz movements were the first analogue 1/10th of a second quartz chronographs and as such they were probably over engineered. The 7A38 series takes the base 7A28 and adds quick set day and date. The highlight for this particular watch is the condition of the PVD coating – you will go a long time before seeing a better one! The QC oval sticker is still on the case back too. Everything is working correctly, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. We think this bracelet is full length though.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
Please see the HD video for more detail. All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned. We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
