A very good example of the rarer manual wind 1984 Oyster Precision, with a very sought after dial colour. Model reference 6426.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number between the bottom lugs we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1984. The code on the bracelet clasp is also dated for 1984, showing this is the original bracelet for this watch (bracelet reference 78350, with 557 end links)
CONDITION
The Precision was the entry level Rolex, but to find one like this is not an easy task. First is the condition – unpolished, original dial and hands, and original bracelet, all in 9.5/10 condition. The tritium on the hands and hour markers has turned a nice creamy colour. Secondly is the specification – no date, manual wind and with a grey dial that is far, far rarer than the standard silver dial. No date also means no cyclops magnifier, which some people do not like, on the acrylic crystal. The movement is the Rolex calibre 1225, a seventeen jewel manual wind movement which is all working well. The case back still has a protective sticker on it. The Oyster bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
