This Speedmaster is the best we have ever seen. Cousin to the Ripley watch. Model reference 7A28-7000
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in February 1983.
CONDITION
This is probably the best example in the World available, and that is not something we say lightly. Designed by Giugiaro around the same time as he designed the DeLoren car, and more recently a modern version has been relaunched (the quickest way to spot those is they don’t have QUARTZ written under the Chronograph word on the dial). They were available in either a gunmetal finish or this PVD – the gunmetal one looked so futuristic that Ripley wore one in Alien, hence the name. The PVD has a pinprick mark on the bezel at ten, and the very tips of the unique side pushers has the slightest wear. These pushers show no signs of fatigue at all, and function perfectly. The bracelet is long, and about perfect. This includes the clasp, with the helmet and Speedmaster script – something no doubt Omega would strongly object to now. The movement is Seiko’s groundbreaking 7A28A, a full metal and serviceable quartz that was the first to be able to show 1/10ths of a second on a dial. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. We have previously sold this watch, and bought it back in part exchange against another watch we had.
