A large mechanical watch produced to celebrate the 1980 Moscow Olympic games.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We can date this to 1980 from the date featured on the dial. There is an inscription on the inside of the watch back that is initials with 1979 engraved in, but 1980 is the more probable date.
CONDITION
Another USSR watch to commemorate the 1980 Moscow summer Olympics. The dial is purple and the watch wears really well, given the large size. There is some damage at 2 on the case, so it isn’t perfect but it is a nice overall watch with the year 1980 right on the dial – perfect for a gift.
