HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1980.
CONDITION
Cosmetically the main selling point of this De Ville is the deeply etched pattern on the dial, which changes the appearance of the watch depending on the light available. But inside the 20 micron gold plated case you will find something good too. It is Omega’s calibre 1332, a 17 jewel quartz movement with quick set date and it even has Côtes de Genève decoration on the plates – not your average quartz movement! You can advance or retard the hour hand separately to the minute hand for quick and accurate time zone changes, and you can adjust the seconds and minute hand via the pusher at 2 if you needed to. Furthermore, it has a trimmer for ultimate accuracy, and this watch is currently running at 0.02 seconds per day fast – not two seconds, but two one hundredths of one second per day, or 7.5 seconds per year! We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The leather strap is nearly new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred, but the replacement strap wouldn’t be from Omega. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, buckle and strap.
