HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1979.
CONDITION
To date, we have been lucky enough to offer 469 different Omega watches for sale – and seen thousands more – but we have not seen this one before. Add intot his the great condition of this example, and it was clear we had to have it. The case is rolled gold, which is a sandwich construction of gold with a stronger base metal centre. This gives a much thick layer of gold than gold plating would be, and as gold had quadrupled in value in the previous seven years leading up to 1979 it seems an extravagant choice. Add in the Omega calibre 1377 quartz movement, a slim six jewel quartz that was quite cutting edge for the time but still has metal bridges finished with Côtes de Genève striping to impress the watchmaker at battery changes. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The gold plated bracelet is quite long and this is always critical with integrated bracelets, as you would not be able to fit a leather strap instead. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown and clasp.
This watch will be supplied with our branded and reusable zipped travel case and cleaning cloth, and our Certificate of Authenticity.
