A nice 1978 Tissot Autolub hand winding watch, with box, guarantee and even the hangtag.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the supplied paperwork we can accurately date this watch to being sold in June 1978.

CONDITION

The Autolub movement was a joint development between Tissot and other companies to produce a low maintenance, low cost hand wound watch to compete with the Japanese quartz watches that were undercutting the Swiss industry.

This example is complete with the guarantee booklet, hangtag, and box.  The chromed case has a couple of imperfections between 11 and 1, but the TV dial more than compensates for this, flattering the photographer.  Fitted with a new leather strap, which has had an extra hole punched in it.  This example still has its signed crown in place.
