HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1978. This model was launched in 1977.
CONDITION
Thi smodel was also available in solid 18k gold, which was a bold move in 1978 when gold prices were racing away. But the quartz movement in this watch was so cutting edge that Omega must have thought demand would be there. This uses their in house calibre 1330, which only has two hands but it does have some extra trick. For example, you can change the hour hand independently without stopping the watch – ideal for frequent travellers changing time zones. Should you need to change the minute hand you have to press the button set into the crown, but these were designed to be so accurate that you would rarely ever need to do that. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The dial is clean, and the gold plated case has just some wear to the lug tips. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case and movement.
This watch will be supplied with our branded and reusable zipped travel case and cleaning cloth, and our Certificate of Authenticity.
