A nice Type II from Seiko, albeit without the original bracelet.  Model reference 7548-8000.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in September 1977.

CONDITION

The Type II was hugely popular, and that was possibly due to the price.  New these were ¥ 27,000, which was still more than a mechanical chronograph but cheaper than things like the King Quartz which started at ¥ 40,000.  This watch has a good dial and handset, day date with quickset in English and Kanji, and everything is working correctly.  We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.  The case appears unpolished and does show some marks, but the glass is very good.  The bracelet that this watch would have had has not survived – most don’t – but we have fitted a new leather strap, and that could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
