A big, chunky 1970’s TV dialed Omega Seamaster automatic watch with its original bracelet. Triple gold design – golden dial, golden case and golden bracelet. Model number 166.0138
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the in house 1012 automatic movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1977.
CONDITION
This watch is not for the shy and retiring, although if you did want to tone it down a lot you could simply add a leather strap and save the bracelet for extra wear and tear at the same time.
But we choose to keep everything together for the sale! The 23 jewel hacking movement also has a quick set date, and is working nicely. Squared cases are often knocked on the corners, but not this one. Generally the wear to the 20 micron gold plate is very light, and the colour is rich – more like 18k gold than 9k. The stainless steel case back features the hippocampus logo used on most Omega Seamaster models, and is held in place with four screws. The bracelet, , numbered 1237/223 on the signed clasp, is both in good condition and long. The crown is signed with the Omega logo. The glass does have a few light scratches that have been polished back to the best they could be without replacement.
This watch has just been fully serviced.
