This Longines was part of their Flagship range and has just had a complete service. Model reference 4327.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We sent photos of the watch, case, dial and movement to Longines and the serial number and they confirmed this watch is a Flagship model and was invoiced to their UK agent, Baume, in 1976.
CONDITION
This watch contains the Calibre 847.4 movement. This in house Longines manual wind movement stands just 2.5 mm thick, allowing a very slim profile of the watch that is in total just 6 mm thick. This doesn’t quite qualify for ultra thin, but it is definitely on the slimmer side of things. The movement has just been fully serviced, so is running sweetly. The watch has the signed crown still and a period correct NSA bracelet, which are now quite valuable in their own right. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath so is ready to wear. The downside on this watch is the dial, which has raised spots across the surface but is otherwise quite good. The white Longines script on the dial above the applied winged logo can disappear at some angles, but it is all there. But the dial is also quite tricky to describe – is it golden, brown, taupe or another colour? It does change with the light.
