One of the earliest of the 4004 models, this Seiko SQ is becoming more and more collectible. Model reference 0903-7009

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in August 1975. The movement was actually in production from 1975 to 1985, but the later watches we have seen have Hardlex crystals not the acrylic one fitted to this watch.

By 1975 Quartz was king, and the leaders from the very beginning were Seiko. This example would have cost more than a conventional automatic in the day, and the quality is there. You get a solid stainless steel case, with matching bracelet, and timekeeping to set other mechanical watches by. The dial is good, with applied SQ and Seiko logos and the word QUARTZ printed proudly above 4004. You have quick set day and date, and the date wheel is in English, Spanish and French – rare to have three languages represented. The original, full length bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
