This distinctive ellipsoidal solid silver ladies Lanco watch has a hand winding movement and is very easy to read.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the import hall mark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1975.

CONDITION

Lanco watches have an interesting history, which you can read more about here.  The case design on this watch is unusual but not in a bad way.  The lug design starts at the crown, then a thick wire of silver forms the bottom lug, hugs the case on the non crown side, forms the top lug and then back to the crown.  This also has the advantage of making the crown protected from sideways knocks.  Inside the Sterling Silver case (0.925 Silver) the seventeen jewel movement is working well, and is a FHF 69N that was used in so many ladies watches of the 1970’s and 1980’s.  The case was actually made by Omega, and is stamped OWC.  Omega and Lanco were both members of Société Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogère SA (SSIH) during the seventies, and Omega were well used to making silver watches form their Jeux d’Argent De ville models.  The wine red strap is new, but has gold strap retainers and buckle as we did not have any silver versions with the open ended strap end this watch needs.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
