This Seiko Elnix has a very rare dial colour, and the original faceted crystal still in place. Model reference 0703-1010.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in February 1974.
CONDITION
The Elnix was Seiko’s take on the electronic watch. Although battery powered, it does not tick as the watch has a balance wheel, so the second hand sweeps around instead of ticking. There is no quartz used inthe watch at all. This model doesn’t feature in the 1974 brochures we have access too, so may have been made for a particular market – the day wheel is in English and Kanji, whereas watches designed for Europe often had French as a second language and the watches destined for the USA mainly used Spanish as the second language. The dial is the main feature – this bronze colour changes in the light, enhanced by the faceted crystal (which may have been polished). The dial is in excellent condition, and the white hands and prominent hour markers have a streak of white paint to ensure they are visible in all conditions. Everything is working correctly, including the quick set day and date. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet, Seiko number XBB320, is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, and clasp.
