HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1972.
CONDITION
The Tissot Seastar was produced in quite large numbers, and it is only this that keeps the price down. Can you think of another Swiss brand with Tissot’s history that you can buy this specification of case and movement for the same money? It is not easy, with brands like Longines and Omega being significantly more expensive. The irony is that Omega and Tissot co-developed this movement series, so the Omega 1481 is the same base as the Tissot 2481. This watch has a slightly higher spec’ calibre 2571, which has quick set date and a day of the week too. Everything is working well. The dial is very clean, and the stainless steel case is in good order. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
