A nice Seventies Seiko 7005-7080 automatic, with great deep black dial and gold plated case. Very John Player Special colour scheme!
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in July 1972.
CONDITION
The black dial has just a hint of emerald green in it, which just adds to the appeal. The case is a good size for those not familiar with vintage watches, as it is more akin to modern tastes. There is some gold plate wear to the edges, as shown in the enlarged photos, but it is not terrible. We have polished the crystal to reveal that dial, and cleaned the case. The leather strap is new. The movement, including the quick set date, is all working well.
