A really nice example of a 1972 ladies Omega De Ville, fitted with the desirable automatic movement.  Model reference 551.0057.

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1972.

The cheapest new ladies Omega watch is £2,130, but if you want an automatic movement you will have to part with £3,900.  So why is this 1972 watch not more money?  Well the small size puts some people off and ladies vintage watches are not as widely collected as men’s watches, so they appear to be outstanding value for money.  This De Ville model has the 24 jewel calibre 661, which was the smallest widely produced automatic movement in the World.  It uses materials like beryllium bronze on the ratchet wheel to just make it as good as it could be, and all is working well.  The case has some scratches on the right hand side, below the signed crown, but is overall good with minimal wear to the 20 micron gold plating.  The dial, hands and glass are great.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity..
