Timex collectors will love this! An unusual dial, but complete with box and papers, makes this doubly hard to find.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the dial we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1972. However the sales paperwork shows it was sold in 1976. Either year can be considered valid for a birth year watch.
CONDITION
The deep burgundy dial, with two horizontal stripes, is different to any Timex dial we have seen before and quite fetching. The hands and the hour markers each have white paint on, making a good contrast to the dial and the watch is very legible. Timex watches were never the highest quality, but this is keeping time to within a minute or so a day. The bracelet is likely to be of the same age as the watch, and has been cleaned in out ultrasonic bath. Just the rear section is expandable, and one spring on this has failed, but the bracelet is still sound and once under a little tension you can’t notice the failed section. If your wrist is smaller 190mm then that is the link to remove.
