A clean 1970 Citizen automatic, featuring an Italian day calendar wheel, set into the black dial.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in November 1970.

CONDITION

This Citizen automatic will always be a popular watch, as the size, case material (stainless steel) and the black dial give it a classic look that can easily be worn today.  Unlike the rival Seiko models, the Citizen movement can be hand wound as well as automatically – the Seiko is hand wind only on most models.  The movement also has quick set date, though the Italian day wheel needs to be set by advancing the hands.  The dial is very good, deep black with applied markers and logos.  All the lume plots are there, but are no longer effective.  There is a small chip in the glass near 56, but you have to look closely for that.  The bracelet has an extender piece to allow it to fit most wrists, and has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.  This watch would also look good on a black leather strap.

This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
