This has to be the best dress watch in the Omega Geneve range of this period – manual wind, and no calendar. Model reference 135.0041.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1969.
CONDITION
This is the most pure or elegant of the Geneve range, doing nothing more than telling the time. The movement used is Omega’s 17 jewel calibre 601, which is manually wound via the signed crown and running well. It sots in a stainless steel case, with screw down back specifically for this model – it is flatter than the automatic versions, as the automatic movement is thicker and requires more space. The dial is original and without any lume, but the black hour markers and sections of the hand ensure legibility is always good. The crystal has a small defect at 58, and some others nearer the centre, which are on the inside and can not be felt, but it is also the original Omega signed item and we would rather keep that that swap for a non Omega part. The case has been polished in the past, leaving it shiny. The dial has a few small age marks. The dark brown leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown and crystal.
