This 1968 Tudor watch, model number 7992/0, features a grey dial and roulette date wheel – the numbers alternate between red and black.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case between the lugs we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1968.
CONDITION
The watch is in very good original shape. The watch was probably delivered on a bracelet when new, and there are slight marks on the back of the lugs to show this, but somewhere down the line the bracelet has been replaced and we have added a new black leather strap. The dial is original, and not repainted. The case is virtually free of marks, with just a couple of small marks on the back. The crown is the original screw down Rolex item (Tudor is owned by Rolex, and used Rolex cases and crowns but not Rolex movements). We have the box shown for this watch, but this is a later version and not from 1968. The movement in Tudor watches was not made by Rolex, hence they are less expensive to produce – this watch has a 21 jewel manual wind ETA 2403, stamped for Tudor, which has the semi quickset date method.
This watch will be supplied with a Tudor presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
