HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1967.
CONDITION
This Eterna-Matic 1000 may have spent the majority of its life in the box. As well as being signed on the case, dial, movement and crown it is also signed on the buckle and the acrylic crystal. The last two items on that list are high wear and often lost over time, replaced with generic parts, so that is very good news. The movement is the Eterna 1479K, an automatic in house calibre which is very clean and was also introduced in 1967. The case is plated with twenty microns of gold, twice the usual standard, and there is only wear on the tips of the lugs. There is some tarnish around the bezel that we have left, as is shows the watch has not been used much – this wipes off with a jewellers cloth in seconds and we can do that for you if you wish. The leather strap is nearly new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
