A very clean 9kt gold Garrard men’s presentation watch from Hawker Siddeley for 20 years hard work. Manual wind movement.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the Birmingham hallmark on the case back we know this watch case was made in 1965. From the inscription on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being gifted to S D Gordon in 1966 to celebrate 20 years with the guided missile manufacturer Hawker Siddeley Dynamics Ltd.
CONDITION
The watch looks to have spent most of its life saved for best, as so often with these presentation watches. The dial is very clean, particularly as during this era most people smokes and this can stain dials. The solid gold case is free from dings, and we have cleaned the dirt on the case that is still shown in the photographs. The movement is made by ETA, so is of the high quality you would expect from the Queen’s jewellers. We will fit a choice of either black or brown leather straps prior to sending it to you.
